How It's Made (also broadcast in French under the title Comment c'est fait) is a 1999 television program produced in Quebec, Canada by Productions MAJ Inc. It is broadcast in English on Discovery Channel Canada and in French on Ztélé. The program is also broadcast abroad, notably in the United States on The Science Channel and the Discovery Channel, and in the UK on Discovery Channel UK. The show walks through the processes by which diverse everyday products such as snowboards, ice skates, and bubblegum are manufactured.

Additionally, a different voiceover track is recorded for U.S. audiences by Brooks Moore. The main difference in the versions is that the U.S. host gives units of measurement in standard units instead of metric units. At one point in the U.S. run, a subtitled conversion was shown on-screen over the original narration instead -- some episodes still have this subtitling, even though the narration has since been re-recorded. Only seasons 1-4 have been screened in the U.S.
In the UK, the series is narrated by Tony Hirst. Seasons 1-6 have been shown in the UK on the Discovery Channel. Season 7 recently began showing in October 2006.
Trivia
* The Season 1, Episode 9 "Historical Capsule" lead-in to the "Cosmetics" segment incorrectly states that Florence Nightingale founded the Elizabeth Arden cosmetics company in 1930. In actuality, the company was founded by Florence Nightingale Graham.
* During the third season, the Techno Flash segment was removed.
* During the fifth season, the historical capsule segment was removed.
* The show began widescreen broadcasting during the fourth season.
* Transportation for the programme was provided by Subaru Canada
* The title sequence features the letters in the name of the show flashing on screen -- only the letters t, s and e are left out. The end result spells "How I mad".
